My vision for this event began with a luxurious blush tulle gown from Opal and June, and blossomed from there. By the generous invitation of the Village of Lake Villa, we were able to craft our shoot at the city's historic Lehmann Mansion, currently undergoing updates as a wedding venue and new restaurant.

I partnered with Latasha Fields of L Prestigious Events NYC to plan and design this event. We paired the blush from the gown with a deep blue in honor of Pantone's color of the year "Classic Blue" (PANTONE 19-4052). Latasha lovingly crafted blush "flower napkins" in keeping with our theme; and she curated numerous other small details to accent our tablescape.

Because this event was planned and executed during Illinois' Phase 4 of COVID reopening, we crafted scenes that would be in keeping with a wedding that might take place under current legal guidelines: a reception table with seating for a smaller group of 6 (rather than 8 or 10), a detailed sweetheart table, and an emphasis on intimate couple's portraits. Our talented and environmentally conscious florist, Kirsten Gordon, of Bloom Magic Weddings, created a towering centerpiece for the reception table as well as beautifully designed coordinating swags for the sweetheart table and couple's chairs.

Elements Preserved Vintage Rental provided us with several backbone pieces for the event: a beautiful dusty blue settee, antique tables, and silver candelabras.

While collaborating with our models, Annette and Marcus Morrow, Annette expressed what a dream it would be to wear a cathedral veil, as she didn't get to wear one for her own wedding several years back. We were blessed to receive a custom, hand-made ivory veil from Lovestruck + Golden named "The Harriet" and it photographed beautifully. Finally, our menswear was graciously supplied by the Black Tux and Breauna Marie Bruce of BMB Brides provided exemplary HMUA services for our bride model.
