Springtime in Paris: Modern Parisian Tiny Wedding Inspo

Springtime in Paris wedding Chicago

The International Museum of Surgical Science is tucked away in the Gold Coast neighborhood, nestled next to Lake Shore Drive and Lake Michigan, and just south of Lincoln Park. This Gilded Age mansion – inspired by a French château – was the perfect venue for a tiny modern springtime Parisian-themed wedding shoot. The spacious marble-floored room is lined with statues and beautifully large windows that provide lovely natural light and overlook the lake. The historic venue is ideal for hosting a small wedding party, up to 100 guests.

The amazing Kari from Wedding Day Chicago pulled together incredible vendors from around Chicago to create this dreamy modern take on a tiny Parisian wedding. The marble fireplace was gorgeously frocked with florals designed by Studio Poppy Flora, and served as a stunning backdrop both for the ceremony and intimate reception. The entire day was captured delightfully by lisa kathan photography.

Our bride stunned in a breathtaking Italian silk jacquard design by Chicago bridal designer, VWIDON Bridal. The gown’s diagonal high-low halter dress with bow detail behind the neck was accentuated by Baylee’s hair being swept up into a whimsical ponytail by Milian Bonillo Beauty. Her flawless makeup was done by Giselle Dozier Artistry, while the groom was handsome in a blue tuxedo by custom Indochino.

Pinks, blushes and shades of blue appeared throughout the design, including the bride’s luxe embroidered Something Bleu Shoes, with a bow that mimicked the bow on the dress the bride wore for the ceremony. The shoes are featured among the couple’s dazzling Ethan Lord rings, French blue dyed silk ribbon and bride's journal.

The wedding party was serenaded by harpist, Dawn Bishop, who enchanted everyone to another place and time, while Kari officiated with a custom ceremony.

The party featured a sweetheart table was draped with an elegant cloth from Windy City Linen, and topped with eclectic tableware, including blue water glasses from Tablescapes Event Rentals

The charcuterie designed by The Tasteful Table was nearly too beautiful to eat! And no wedding day would be complete without a tiny wedding cake from Sugar On Top Bake Shop – as pretty as it was sweet – and macarons and other treats from Chicago’s La Boulangerie

After the party, Baylee changed into a charming short dress sweetly skirted with Italian silk organza hand-cut flowers, and a bodice of duchesse doppia silk satin.

Très magnifique!
