Floral-Filled Microwedding at Armour House

After postponing their original wedding date, Oralia and Kirk decided to have a “mini-mony” followed by a small celebration with close friends and family. But even though the size was small, their floral-filled microwedding at Armour House had big details that caught our eye! Just wait until you see the stunning cake!! Beautifully captured and awaiting your eyes, enjoy these photos by Tim Tab Studios and video by Mirar Weddings!

From the bride, Oralia: Kirk and I have been together for eight years! We got engaged the day before Christmas Eve in 2018. Our original wedding date was Saturday, July 25, 2020. Never in a million years did we think a pandemic would happen and cause us to postpone our wedding celebration! We decided to postpone for the safety of our family, friends, and vendors. After our big downtown Chicago wedding celebration was postponed, we decided to get married with our immediate families in Lake Forest, Illinois where Kirk’s family is from.

Oralia: We did not want to wait any longer to get the sacrament of marriage. We chose to get married on Thursday, July 30, 2020 because our new wedding celebration date is Saturday, July 30, 2022 (we wanted the same date this year and two years from now)! This summer, our 11 person wedding was perfect and so special! Our vendors allowed us have our minimony safely and responsibly! We were able to have a lot of details that we weren’t going to do at our larger wedding celebration, such as sparkler send off, champagne tower, flower pedal toss, and flower arch at church. It was always a dream of mine to get married under a flower arch and have a pedal toss!

Oralia: We made our best day a memorable one and can’t wait to celebrate with all our family and friends in 2022! We hope everyone stays healthy and safe for now. I encourage all Covid couples to remember the meaning behind marriage. Yes, postponing was sad because we had been planning for a year and a half, but you can get married now and celebrate later. Have your postponing pity party and then plan something intimate! I am happy I did and now am looking forward to 2022!
