Charming Downtown Chicago Engagement Session

With the warm weather surrounding them, Lexi and Timmy captured their love with this charming downtown Chicago engagement session. They hit up Lincoln Park, Ohio Street Beach, and Navy Pier with Dana Bell Photography behind the lens to capture the amazing shots: including both the beauty of the skyline and their love! Have a peek at the outcome below. (Spoiler alert: each photo is fantastic!)

Written and photographed by Dana of Dana Bell Photography:

I met up with Lexi and Timmy in mid June hoping the COVID pandemic wouldn't be too problematic for getting around the city and sneaking some shots in. We started at South Pond in Lincoln Park in a casual outfit and made our way around the pond hoping to get some good ones with the skyline in the back (spoiler alert, we got some good ones).

Then we had a quick wardrobe change and Lexi threw on her blush pink jumpsuit and we headed to Navy Pier where we discovered that Milton Lee Olive Park was closed (bummer, we really wanted those skyline pics). But ended up wandering onto Ohio Street Beach where we saw some other Chicagoans breaking the closed beach and lakefront COVID rules. We ended up grabbing some great shots, briefly getting told by a cop on a 4-wheeler that he wasn't enforcing the closure, and headed to Navy Pier to grab one last shot.

Lexi and Timmy REALLY wanted a photo of them by the ferris wheel since Timmy originally proposed right at the top and had their family waiting below to congratulate them. Of course we had to wear a mask while on the pier, so we for sure snagged a mask shot too! Overall it was a pretty great session despite COVID, and closures, and masks - mainly because we got free parking at Navy Pier :)
