Autumn Lacuna Lofts Wedding in Chicago

Colorful, creative, and energetic, Laura and Steve’s wedding day is as cheerful as it is beautiful! Their Lacuna Lofts wedding blends a funky and fun with modern and elegant. Get ready for all the lively details captured by Victoria Sprung Photography below!

Looking back, what were some of your favorite parts or moments of the Wedding day?

Laura: getting ready with my bridesmaids, enjoying the sunshine on the rooftop, seeing Steve start to cry as I walked down the aisle.

Steve: “The getting married part was pretty great” and the after party at Richard’s Bar.

What was your favorite piece of fashion or accessory, and where did you get it?

Laura: My copper rose bracelet, which matched my bridesmaids’ necklaces, all made by Megan Michelle, an artist in the Chicago area @mmmetalsmithing

Steve: Custom made burgundy Italian mohair jacket, from suit supply

What was the inspiration for your decor or styling?

We wanted things to be colorful and not too fussy, and match the artwork and vibe of Lacuna. We had Nick Collela of Great Lakes Tattoo draw some wedding art for us a few months ahead of time, and we drew a lot of inspiration from that.

Mention a funny moment of the day!

Our ring bearer Archer decided 30 seconds before walking down the aisle that he didn’t want to be in the wedding anymore. Luckily his older sister told him he had to lol. Also, when I tripped on my tulle and bit it on the dance floor while dancing to Dropkick Murphys.

Any wedding advice for engaged couples?

There was some advice from the website A Practical Wedding that really rang true for me - you’re going to remember how the day felt, not how it looked — so save your energy for the things that are key to the experience you want for you and your guests, and don’t worry too much about all the small details

Tell us about the honeymoon plans!

We went to New Orleans for a few days right after the wedding and had a lot of amazing food! We’re planning a longer trip to Scotland and Ireland in the spring for hiking, castles, and whiskey

What was it like working with Sprung Photo?

We had the best experience! We really felt like Victoria understood us and what we wanted, and we love her artistic vision and shots she got. The guys also loved the second photographer they worked with. Steve said he was really friendly and funny and put them at ease and had some great ideas. Super easy to work with all around!
