Super Fun, Nontraditional Wedding at Alter Brewing

Funky, edgy, and undoubtedly cool, Michelle and Tim’s nontraditional wedding at Alter Brewing is bringing the BEST energy and upbeat vibes. After 11 years together, they decided to make it all official with a ceremony and celebration that’s bound to not only make you smile, but appreciate an off-beat style! Mackenzie Maeder Photo + Video was there to capture it all with a creative eye, leaving us all with these light-hearted images and moments!

Mackenzie: I received a message from Michelle and Tim asking about wedding collections the week before their wedding. At first I thought it might be a bot or a typo. Maybe they meant 2/22/21? So when I asked them to confirm their date Michelle replied that it was, in fact, a week away. She said "nothing about our wedding is traditional". I thought “say no more”! Immediately I was on board and luckily I was available! Whenever anyone is explaining their wedding and the words super nontraditional are used I know that it is going to be an amazing time. And I was so right. Michelle and Tim are awesome. From the moment we met that Saturday to the end of the night I just felt so lucky I got to be a part of their day. They had initially planned to not have a wedding photographer but decided last minute to try to find one. And they said they were so glad they did!

Mackenzie: After 11 years Michelle and Tim decided to make what they already knew official. They had a home and a cat together, had built this awesome life with one another. Michelle and Tim knew each other in hight school and reconnected about 10 years later. Two months into dating Tim asked for permission from Michelle's dad to one day marry her. He kept his promise and 11 years later surrounded by friends and family they got married. What I really loved about their day was just how unique their details were to them. Michelle and Tim had gotten ready together. They both wore black and had fun chucks (Michelle's were sparkly) and Tim wore cat socks. The cake was made by Tim's sister and Michelle wore the sash from her mother's wedding dress on her bouquet. They had an emotional ceremony amongst a group of friends who they surprised by asking to stand up with them once they arrived. Billy Bricks made pizza in their incredible food truck (it was delicious). And everyone laughed and danced the rest of the night! This was one of those days where you could feel the excitement in the air from start to finish. Michelle's parents were also celebrating their 40th anniversary that same weekend so they played a special song just for them. It was so sweet! Needless to say I think these two are pretty freaking awesome.
