Intimate Rooftop Brunch Wedding at Little Goat Diner

Imagine a relaxing morning — enjoy coffee in your apartment with your soon to be husband while taking in the summer sunshine — before slipping into your wedding attire and sharing a first look in the place you call home. This is exactly how Shital and Brandon’s wedding day started, and it was only the beginning of the events that were to come. The two opted for an intimate rooftop brunch wedding at Little Goat Diner, and trust us when we say it is as sweet and romantic as it sounds! Enjoy their photos captured by Becky Brown Photography!

From the photographer: Shital and Brandon are the absolute cutest. They met online via OK Cupid a few years ago and over time have grown their family by 1 dog (Sam) and 1 cat (Toews). (And a baby on the way as I type this!)

They share a love for the show Friends and took a few minutes to watch part of an episode and have coffee the morning of the wedding. Gotta love the relaxed feeling of intimate weddings! Keeping the Friends theme their wedding day was "The one when Brandon Wed Shital!" as all episodes of Friends start with "The one..."

From the photographer: We did their first look (post coffee, after getting ready) at their apartment and then headed out into the city for some photos. After a stop for skyline shots at Olive Park and Board of Trade photos we made our way to Little Goat where they had their ceremony on the rooftop in front of their 30ish guests. Brandon's Mom surprised Shital that morning with her something borrowed that was the pearl necklace Brandon's grandmother had worn on her wedding day. There is a photo in the "Toasts and details" section of them holding the grandparents wedding photo where Grandma is wearing the necklace.

From the photographer: They enjoyed an amazing spread of brunch food and even showed off their skills with a choreographed dance they'd been working on all week! I asked them that morning what they were most excited about and they both looked at each other and said "Pancakes!" haha. I think they put in some extra hours in the gym to make sure no carb was left behind on the wedding day!

It's the intimate weddings like this that make me love my job. The couple had a blast and got to spend individual time with all their guests. And it was a more of a lunch events so they had the rest of the evening to celebrate!
