Chicago Cubs Themed Minimony Elopement at Hotel Zachary

Consider today’s wedding day a home run because these two brides really knocked it out of the park! As season ticket holders and longtime fans, Ashley and Leslie had a Chicago Cubs themed minimoney elopement at Hotel Zachary. They tied in the colors with a corseted gown, bowties, and with adorable attire for their pups — who also played a significant role for the day. As the two met through Tennessee Dachshund Rescue, it was only fitting they incorporated their love for both their furry friends and the Cubs. Thanks to ee photography, you can see all the excitement and learn more about their day below!

From the photographer: Leslie and Ashley met in a very unconventional way for some but for them, it was only natural. Leslie is the founder of the amazing Tennessee Dachshund Rescue (TBR) (https://www.tndachshundrescue.com/) and Ashley was a volunteer/foster family. They rescued together and the rest is history! Though they had what some may think is a short engagement, when you know don't you just know?

In addition to doxys, they have a mutual love for the Chicago Cubs. Because of this, they knew of only one place they needed to elope. The Hotel Zachary was the perfect spot with Wrigley Field as the backdrop and only steps away. You can see that they thought of every spot in their details to show their love of baseball and the Cubs.

During the ceremony, Leslie surprised Ashley by adopting one of their foster dogs. She flew Butters to Chicago with friends, also TBR volunteers, and revealed her surprise during her vows. Only about 5 people knew so it was a surprise for most! Also, you may be wondering why there is a framed photo of Ryan Reynolds...funny story. Leslie's brother thought it would be funny to request his photo in his room when we got there and of course, Hotel Zachary came through. We all joked that he was our famous guest at the wedding. We wish!

After the minimony, we walked around the stadium and these two were able to get their names on the Wrigley Field marquee for all of Chicago to see, I mean they ARE season ticket holders! It was amazing to hear all of the congratulations yelled from the windows of cars passing by and people walking by.

Next, we hopped back up to the hotel reception area for libations, deep-dish pizza, tacos, and cake. Once we all ate, talked, played a little pool we got ready to hit the streets of downtown Chicago.
