Romantic Industrial Summer Wedding Filled with Peonies

Is there anything better than a pretty wedding during a warm summer day? We think not! With the Blumen Gardens setting the scene, Cassidy and Chris tied the knot with an outdoor ceremony with their loved ones there to witness the special moment. Following their nuptials, the pair headed to take photos amongst the lush blooms and industrial backdrops before holding a tented backyard celebration. From beginning to end, their romantic day was filled with peonies — making a statement not only on top of their wedding cake and ceremony arch, but in Cassidy’s bouquet too. If these dreamy pink flowers aren’t enough to catch your eye, these moments by Expedition Joy sure will!

Cassidy & Chris’s intimate summer wedding at Blumen Gardens in Sycamore was the perfect day! The warm June weather meant they had an intimate outdoor ceremony surrounded by close family which made for beautiful photos and Marcy’s romantic peonies added a soft, romantic touch.

Chris and Cassidy are really easy to put in front of the camera together and get amazing photos of. Cassidy is quick to laugh and give suggestions on fun poses to do, plus they are down for anything I ask them to do! It makes sense since they met ten years ago in Spanish class and have been dating since 2014. They now share a home together with their pups Cubby and Ivy, and they love vacationing in Kauai.

On their wedding day, Cassidy got ready at her and Chris’ house with her family and of course a round of shots for the family to start the fun! Her stunning Essence of Austria wedding dress from The Crystal Bride was a beautiful ballgown with lace florals that matched all her floral-inspired jewelry from Olive & Piper. Chris’ favorite memory was watching Cassidy walk down the aisle escorted by both of her parents. After their sweet ceremony, we took photos at the lush gardens at Blumen and then headed to the Sycamore Courthouse which was Cassidy’s favorite part getting to spend some private time as husband and wife for photos.

They had a beautiful backyard tent for their reception to celebrate over dinner with their guests. The twinkling lights were a beautiful setting to end the day. Their beautiful wedding cake from Noble Cakery covered in peonies should have been taken out of the fridge a little earlier… since they broke their cake knife during the cake cutting. The bride and groom and guests could not stop laughing and those were some of my favorite candid images from their wedding day.
