Chic Summer Wedding at Hyatt Regency Schaumburg

While Indian weddings are known for their grand allure and large gatherings, to stay safe in the times COVID-19, Jerry and Lijia took a different approach to their chic summer celebration. With many safety precautions in place, these lovers said I do at Hyatt Regency Schaumburg with a day that came with no shortage of romantic moments and loads of style. Their day proves that love is all you need…but my oh my are the beautiful details of their day quite the added bonus! Take notes on how it’s done in these photos by Oh So Lovely.

Having met in Sunday School, Jerry and Lijia fell for each other at a young age. As the years passed, they grew and cultivated their friendship. The couple decided to take their relationship to the next level and get married but they found themselves in the middle of a pandemic. In an effort to celebrate their love and prove that love was not cancelled in 2020, Jerry and Lijia tied the knot at their August 2020 wedding. Although they pictured their wedding differently, and because Indian weddings are known to have higher guest counts, Jerry and Lijia forewent their original wedding plans and complied with the state laws to ensure everyone was protected and safe for their Covid-19 wedding.

Ushers took guest temps at the church and reception with a no contact thermometer. They did not allow relatives/friends to attend the wedding if they flew into Chicago. Everyone wore masks the entire time except when eating and during formal pictures. They had their entire bridal party tested for Covid and had them send their negative test results prior to the wedding and their families quarantined for 2 weeks before the wedding. At the reception, tables only seated 4-6 people from the same family.

Although they had to to take all the safety precautions, the couple did not fail to bring their personal style and flair to the table. Jerry and Lijia are relationship and wedding goals.
