Riverwoods Enchanted Forest Nuptials

Tucked away in a woodland preservation lies a small town that was originally established on the banks of a river. The town of Riverwoods features significant examples of midcentury design in its architecture. One such residence - turned event venue - has a vision of bringing people together. It’s called The Sanctuary. It is set on a beautiful two acres of wooded land, surrounded by native plants; sometimes visited by nearby furry and avian inhabitants. This rich natural environment is very reminiscent of an enchanted forest; a fairytale. Imagine Aurora of Sleeping Beauty dancing in the forest with her Prince Charming. The vision was clear, and this group of amazing vendors pulled through and delivered.

Deep, warm greens of the environment with subtle gold and blush accents enhanced the magical feel of the venue. Touches of the outdoors were represented throughout. A wooden octagonal arch was embellished with beautiful florals. Queen Anne’s Lace was incorporated into these arrangements and was the perfect nod to the venue’s indigenous flora. How about a picnic in the woods for the happy couple? A romantic little space just for the newlyweds was of the essence. The outdoors was brought inside to compliment a quaint sweetheart table.

The bride and her Prince Charming were a textbook description of fairytale material. A sweetheart neckline and detachable off-the-shoulder straps made this bridal gown effortlessly romantic. The leafy lace appliqués cascaded from the bodice and down the tulle a-line skirt, making it perfect for an enchanted forest wedding. Earthy browns and vibrant deep greens adorned the groom, boasting some faux leather suspenders and a distinctive green bowtie.

Welcome to an Enchanted Forest.
