Renting Wedding Florals - An Affordable Option
Written by Curator Olivia Nicoletti from Olive Fine Weddings
As a wedding planner, some of the first questions I ask are: What is most important to you? What are you willing to invest in? Where do you want to save? These questions help me understand a couple’s vision and budgetary priorities so that I can guide them towards vendors that align with those goals.
Jennie + Alex planned a gorgeous outdoor wedding last September. They wanted a clean, yet rustic feel for their outdoor wedding reception. Jennie was an extremely organized bride and had some specific priorities for her wedding: fabulous food, a big band, and a well-stocked bar. Floral was important to create a beautiful ambiance, but it was not a budgetary priority. So, when it came time to choose floral and tabletop décor, she knew that she wanted simple – crisp greenery and soft, romantic whites. After some research, she decided to rent her floral, a trend that’s becoming more and more popular in weddings.
She rented all of her wedding floral from Something Borrowed Blooms, including bouquets, boutonnieres, and long garlands for the dining tables. SBB even rented her the LED votives for the dining tables! On the day of, it was really easy for me and my team to set up the garlands, and they only needed a little zhuzhing to make them look full and beautiful. I was really impressed with the quality of the pieces. And, they cost much less than the real thing, which matched their budget goals.
An added benefit: no waste! After Jennie + Alex’s wedding day, I packed up the garlands in the boxes they came in, and the couple packed up the personals and mailed them back to SBB. Easy peasy!
I am looking forward to using SBB again in May for a wedding in Chicago - they even let me order some samples to check out the products. Check out the images below from Jennie + Alex’s wedding day, captured beautifully by Heather Skye Photography. The blooms look lovely!
