Timeless Chicago Wedding

Written by Curator Olivia Nicoletti of Olive Fine Weddings

I had the distinct pleasure to work with Christine, Chris, and her mom to plan a timeless wedding on the edge of spring in Chicago.  They were wed at the stunning St. James Chapel in the heart of Chicago, and traveled to the West Loop for a fantastic party at The Fairlie.  We were lucky to get the absolute dream team on their wedding day, including Sally O’Donnell Photography, Hearty Boys, Atmosphere Events Group, and The Party Faithful band from the Beatmix family.  The bride chose a chic gown from Jenny Yoo, which informed her hair and makeup styles from Erin Ahern Beauty and Julia Simone Beauty (those hollywood waves!!!)

Their wedding day was a crisp March day in Chicago with lots of sun.  From the moving ceremony and the kindest wedding party, to the delicious meal and packed dance floor, Chris + Christine’s day was one of my favorites.

Congratulations to the Jacques!

The girls spent the morning at Christine’s childhood home in Chicago, with beauty services by Erin Ahern Beauty and Julia Simone Beauty.  It was a clear, calm morning and the family pup, Joanie, stole the show.

The boys got ready at the Waldorf Astoria Chicago and were able to walk over to St. James in time for the ceremony.

Okay, St. James Chapel is officially one of my favorite Catholic churches in all of Chicago.  It’s on a busy city corner, but the sanctuary is actually situated on the second floor, so it feels grand, but also gives a cozy, intimate vibe.

Also, how beautiful is this bride before she walked down the aisle?!  Sally O’Donnell knows how to capture those beautiful little moments.

After the ceremony, the wedding party traveled down to the River for some group shots (the river was dyed green that morning for St. Patrick’s Day!).

We moved the party over to The Fairlie, a gorgeous venue in Chicago that strikes the perfect balance of industrial and classy.  The couple and I worked on their design concepts together and sourced items to meet their color scheme.  Check out the moodboard below — I think we nailed it!

The rest of their evening was full of meaningful family dances, moving speeches, and a whole lot of Notre Dame energy!
