2026 Wedding Trends: Bold Choices Only

Written by Nicole Fauls, Curator and Owner of Urban Allure Events

If 2025 was about rethinking tradition, 2026 is about owning your point of view. Couples aren’t asking what they should do anymore - they’re asking what feels like them. And I love that.

Here are 3 trends we’re seeing everywhere heading into 2026:

1. Weekend Weddings Are the New Standard

One day isn’t enough anymore — couples want the full weekend.

We’re seeing Friday welcome dinners & activities, an intimate ceremony followed by epic party Saturday, and then a Sunday reset (boat rides, beach hangs, casual brunch… you name it). It turns the wedding into an actual experience, not just a timeline.

And honestly? It’s the best way for guests to actually spend time together instead of feeling like everything flew by.

2. Drapery is doing the MOST (in the best way)

Draping isn’t just background anymore — it’s the whole moment.
Layers, texture, movement… and yes, real color.

It instantly elevates a space and makes the room feel expensive without needing to overdo a million other design moments.

3. Color is winning (sorry neutrals)

This is not the year of “safe.”
Couples are going full monochrome or full-spectrum — bold, intentional, and confident.

If you’re asking “is this too much?” the answer is probably no.

Final Take

2026 weddings are immersive, stylish, and personal — and they’re not trying to please everyone.  If it feels like you (loud, layered, intentional)… you’re doing it right - and if you need help getting it - hire a planner ;).
