Captivating Destination Themed Editorial at Offshore Chicago
This styled shoot was a little different than most with the inspiration coming entirely from the bride. When posing the question, “what type of bride would you want to be?”, our team came up with some of our favorite bridal looks which we then brought to life.
The destination bride, our inspiration for this shoot, was set in the most perfect location in Chicago, Offshore at Navy Pier. With this venue being the largest rooftop space in Chicago that overlooks Lake Michigan and the city skyline with a nautical theme throughout, I knew this concept would fit perfectly in this space.
Our man behind the lens is the extremely talented Andre LaCour of LaCour Images who captured the day so beautifully from the unique details of the cake to the exquisite jewelry on our bride. Lara, with Old North Film Company, jump in and delivered beautiful footage throughout the day including some breathtaking city shots.
Nicole, the very talented owner of Emery Ann Design, created a digital print invitation written in a beautiful blue script on white paper with gray-blue toned envelopes with tropical floral detailing on the inside. Nicole also added an extra little surprise with a pineapple wax seal on the reception card.
The unbelievable cake designed by Mona, owner of Mona’s Sweet Spot, mixed tones of blue with white while also providing hints of gold and finished with a stunning design presented on the right side of the cake with resemblances to waves. The cake rests on a white cake stand over a dessert table with detailed linen provided by BBJ Linen and a light fish net. Shells, sea glass, and coral is spread across the table contributing to the destination theme.
Our signature cocktail created by Ross, the owner of UnMuddled Bartending, built a bright blue tropical drink with a rum base and hints of pineapple. The drink is garnished with a cherry and pineapple leaf.
Standing at 6ft high, the acrylic escort card board was first, hand painted in tones of blue and white and then lined with personalized shells made beautifully by Amber, owner of Amber Rosenberg Design. The bride and groom received their own special shells placed at the top center of the board.
Mira Couture, a bridal boutique with some of the most gorgeous gowns in Chicago, provided our fabulous dresses and veils for the day. The first was a strapless fitted gown with unique, 3D floral applique by Shlomit Azrad, perfect for a beach ceremony. Our bride’s next dress was by Pronovias which had stunning hints of circular glitter throughout providing that extra bit of sparkle.
Since what bride doesn’t love shoes, James Ciccotti owner of James Ciccotti Bridal Shoes & Accessories, provided several pairs of stunning shoes for our bride to wear. Our bride first wore a pair of gorgeous simple sandals with a heel, which would be perfect for any destination wedding, and then a more lavish heel with hints of sparkle to match our bride’s dress.
For our bride’s makeup the wonderful Elise Brill of Leesi B. Cosmetics gave our bride a soft natural glow for her first look and a pop of color for a sense of intrigue with the perfect lash for her second. The fabulous Nicci Loiacono of Luxe Brides by Nicci, created stunning hair styles first with sexy effortless curls and then into a sleek bun.
The jewelry so graciously provided by Dana Rebecca Designs, which began here in Chicago, truly gave our bride the most perfect jewels for the day. Our bride was first wearing a stunning Solitaire Engagement Ring with a 2-ct. oval and Yellow Gold Skinny Band with the Poppy Rae diamond pebble cuff and Taylor Beth cutout studs. She then switched to a gorgeous Solitaire Engagement Ring with a 2 ct. Emerald and Rose Gold Skinny Band.
Anthony Gowder Designs created a hand-tied bouquet of tropical white florals and foliage. This luscious bouquet couldn’t have matched our bride and theme any better.
A huge thank you to this amazing team of vendors on sharing this gorgeous and perfectly executed shoot with us! Hope that some of you can use it as inspiration in your own wedding planning!
