KATE AND SIMON’S CHICAGO ART INSTITUTE ENGAGEMENT

Kate and Simon’s engagement session at the Art Institute was nothing short of magical. We began our morning in the tranquil, light-drenched grand staircase. The early morning sun streamed through the large windows, casting a gentle glow that highlighted their joy and connection.

As we moved through the museum, we stopped at some of the museums most iconic pieces. In the Impressionist galleries, the soft colors and dreamy brushstrokes of Monet’s water lilies provided a romantic backdrop. The bold and vibrant works in the contemporary galleries brought out their playful and adventurous sides. We ended our session on the rooftop with epic views of the Chicago skyline. We were also greeting with some funky shadows to play around with.

As a documentary photographer, its particularly rewarding because it allows for the authentic capture of couples’ genuine moments. Rather than staging scenes, the emphasis is on documenting the organic interactions and emotions that reflect the essence of their relationship. It’s about preserving the laughter, the fleeting glances, and the shared intimacy that make each couple’s story unique.
