Fun and Colorful is IN! Bold and Retro Styled Shoot
Natalia Mangieri, owner of NCM Events Co. shares with us her gorgeous style shoot featuring COLOR and some of the best vendors in the city.
"This shoot was all about fun, retro, disco inspired elements. For me, I'm hoping to see more color and personalized elements in 2024 events and I wanted this to be the best of that. For me, the best part of working on a shoot like this is bringing together all the elements in the initial planning phase and getting to see them come to life the day of the shoot. I had so much fun getting to source the elements I wanted to bring in, like the neon sign, shimmerwall, signature drink signage, adorable custom matchboxes...the list goes on! All those small elements for me from a planning and design perspective are what creating and curating these shoots makes it so worth it. It was so fun to be able to start from just an idea of a cool hippy disco shoot, and bring it to reality.
Our team of vendors that came together for this shoot was just absolutely amazing. Our stunning model, Nikki, had the best hair and makeup team with Joey Claeyssen as her makeup artist and Elizabeth Scott Company as her hair stylist. They totally hit the mark on retro inspired hair and makeup with the fun pop of eyeshadow and the insane volume in the hair. Andrew from Flowerchild did such a great job bringing in really colorful blooms to bounce off the silver and pink disco balls, all while blending really well with the neutrals from the plates and silverware from Vintage Place Settings. Ashley and her team have collected such amazing vintage pieces that worked so well with the theme of this shoot.
Our adorable paper goods from Savannah with Second City Stationery were such a fun element to add in. I also always love getting to see the most stunning jewelry and Gage Diamonds and Grace Von always have the best pieces. The rings and the earrings for this were so incredibly stunning and who doesn't love getting to wear diamonds for the day! The fringe on the place cards is so retro inspired and was just too cute. 99 Haus Balloons had such a WOW moment with the balloon decor and fringe that paired so well with the super fun neon sign and shimmer wall I sourced. Aubrey always has the best ideas of how to make these elements come together and create such a fun photo backdrop moment. The stunning retro cake from ECBG was literally the cherry on top to bring all the design elements together with every last detail down to the glitter cherries on top. All of this against the beauty of Artifact Events North Second Floor was just the perfect setting for a beautiful day. Marissa Kelly captured the true vibe of the day and inspo that I had from the beginning phases of putting this together.
Our amazing couple for the shoot, is actually a real life couple, and personal friends of mine. It's always so rewarding getting to be able to bring in friends that aren't part of this amazing wedding world into projects like this and getting to show them how fun our industry is. Their love and their sense of fun and humor really comes through in these photos too which is always what you hope for. While they might not pick these styles of attire or florals for their own wedding someday, hopefully the inspiration behind the design gave them and other couples some ideas about how to make their wedding so uniquely personal and true to themselves."
