Rooted in Love, Designed with Purpose

From the beginning, Erica and Isabella wanted their wedding to feel personal, joyful, and centered on community. As their planner, my role was to help translate those values into each decision while creating a day that allowed them to remain fully present.

That intention guided our planning process, including the selection of a vendor team whose values aligned with theirs and their desire to support woman & queer owned businesses. It also shaped the design. The floral palette was inspired by the location where Erica proposed to Isabella, connecting the celebration to a meaningful part of their love story.

The wedding day began with separate arrivals and a private courtyard first look, followed by portraits with their wedding party and families. During the ceremony, pairs of attendants entered simultaneously through two separate aisles. Erica and Isabella then made their entrances at the same time, each walking down a different aisle with her family. This balanced processional symbolized two families and communities coming together, with both brides meeting at the ceremony as equals.

After the ceremony, Erica and Isabella shared a few quiet moments together while their guests enjoyed cocktail hour. Before entering the reception, each guest selected a flower-filled bud vase displaying their table assignment. Guests carried the vases to their tables, where they became part of the floral décor and completed the tablescapes. At the end of the evening, the vases also served as meaningful favors for guests to take home.

The reception continued with heartfelt speeches focused on gratitude, family, and community. Before the dance floor opened, guests joined the couple table by table for photographs, culminating in one large group photo.

From selecting a values-aligned vendor team to incorporating florals inspired by their proposal and inviting guests to participate in the décor, every decision was made with purpose. For Isabella and Erica, love is an action and value a verb.
