Wedding At The Joinery

Keryn + Kevin’s wedding at the Joinery was absolutely PERFECT. From the rogue 75 degree day in October to an incredible choreographed first dance, this wedding will be talked about for years to come!

Their Story

“K² (Keryn + Kevin squared) was formed in 2017 when I got a job at Cafe Selmarie while in cooking school,” Keryn told me. “Kevin was the more senior team member assigned to teach me how to make lattes. While I was not very good and needed to ask for help every time, Kevin was always patient and showed me again, and again… and again. Side note: There is some debate if I was actually pretending to be bad at making lattes so that I could have an excuse to talk to Kevin, or if I was genuinely really bad at making them. We’ll never know! :)

Fast forward a few months. We finally became friends and Kevin (finally) asked me out for sushi. He later told me that it was after watching me eat an edible flower that he thought, ‘this is the one for me.’ We went out again that week and have been together ever since.”

Getting Ready, First Look + Portraits

Keryn got ready at her sister’s apartment, which happened to be only 2 blocks away from The Joinery! While there were no official bridesmaids, Keryn ensured that she was surrounded by close friends while she got ready for her wedding… including her sister’s pets! Once dressed and ready to go, we walked over to the venue. Keryn told me ahead of time that she really want a photo of her sister Brittany carrying the back of her dress, so of course we made it happen!

Kevin was ready to go and waiting in the courtyard when we got to the Joinery. Once we made sure everyone was in the right position, the couple did their first look while friends + family watched. After Keryn + Kevin had a moment to themselves, we took more portraits around the neighborhood. We took advantage of the 75 degree weather in mid-October with autumn foliage in full swing. Of course, we had way too much fun playing in the leaves and finding the *perfect* Halloween-decorated house. The couple was greeting by their families when we finally came back to their venue to prep for their ceremony.

Wedding at The Joinery

Keryn + Kevin said “I do” after a gorgeous and emotional ceremony. Once they walked back up the aisle, guests made their way to the courtyard for cocktail hour. A major benefit of having Wooden Paddle cater your wedding is having an absolutely MASSIVE charcuterie table! Everyone chatted with each other and enjoyed food and beverages while taking Polaroids for the couple’s guest book.

Dinner began with the couple cutting the cake followed by speeches and pizza. Kevin shared a dance with his mom and Keryn did the same with her dad. It was the their first dance, however, that was the big event. Keryn + Kevin had taken lessons and choreographed a dance to the classic song, “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You” by Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons. It was incredible! A HUGE roar from the audience followed their epic number. From there, the dance floor opened up and everyone enjoyed dancing + desserts for the rest of the evening.

This wedding at The Joinery was one of my favorites from 2022. Keryn + Kevin are 2 of my favorite humans on the planet and I am SO excited for what life brings them!
