Classic Winter Wonderland at The Rookery in Chicago
Hayley and Spencer got married in Chicago on the same day of the largest snowstorm of the year, but that didn't stop them from having SO much fun. They got engaged at Devil's Lake state park on a cliff in Wisconsin on Easter weekend in April of 2025. Her dog, Ivy, was "being a disaster" as she said but it was perfect for them. She is a kindergarten teacher and he teaches high school band, so the holiday weekend of Thanksgiving was ideal for getting a little time off leading up to the big day.
When they were venue hunting, Hayley saw The Rookery and cried - so clearly it was the place for them! They said their priorities for the wedding were to dance, be with everyone they love in one space all at once, and the day to be overall so much fun. On the wedding day itself, the snow lasted ALL DAY but the photos were amazing, thanks to Joy. They did a first look and the day itself was classic and traditional, with some extra pieces of their personality wrapped in with Ivy on their cocktail hour napkins, the hunter green color, and the LED foam sticks that couples love and they screamed their favorite songs into. The reception dress change was a fun moment, and the grand staircase with the upper deck really made it their own with dancing on the upper level with all their favorite people down below and the couple running around the space to each other for "Love Story" by Taylor Swift. Their mission was to have fun and that they surely did!
