Hi, I am Angela a.k.a Boogie Lights Creative Photography. I am a Chicago based photographer specializing in weddings, events, performances and portraits. I utilize various lenses, filters and camera techniques in digital and film to make your event’s documentation as unique and iconic as you. I also love to get creative in post by offering layered portraits.
I operate more in prompts than poses though poses are used sometimes. Prompts show a more authentic, joyful version of you in photos. When you look back at these photos, I want you to feel the love between you and your guests all over again. Most importantly, I want you to see how much fun you had.
Boogie Lights welcomes all sizes, shapes, ages, shades, scars, religions, abilities and neurodivergences. I love photographing people of different body types, hair types, hair styles and hair colors, tattoos, piercings, whatever makes you, you. Tired of seeing the exact same type of couples on wedding blogs, websites and social media accounts, I strive to be as inclusive as possible. Your wedding and event is about what makes you unique and special. Your photographic documentation should be as well.
Representing Queer Love and Joy in all its beauty and variety is my top priority. It is what Boogie Lights was built on. A queer affirming business not only accepts LGBTQ people, it centers them. Boogie Lights is a Queer affirming business. Queer centered, all welcoming.
In addition to weddings, I shoot events, performances and portraits within the Queer community. My editing style leans vintage, creating memories to last. I am also an ordained minister for LGBTQ+ micro-weddings & elopements!
