Finding Design Inspiration
Just engaged? The logistics of planning a wedding can be a lot on their own, but I recently had a client feeling overwhelmed about design: “I know nothing about florals or color schemes or trendy geometric patterns in weddings! Help!”
It’s a process, and don’t be afraid to stick to your gut. Are you on Instagram? Start following local blogs like us, @chitheewed, or national blogs like @100_layercake and screenshot images that really speak to you. Or, scroll through Pinterest, Facebook, or your photographer’s website. Organize all of your images in a folder and after a few weeks, scroll through them - you might surprise yourself! You might find that you’re obsessed with bright colors, or really don’t see anything you love outside of a neutral palette. All of those options are perfect!
As you can tell from these gorgeous shots by the talented Meg Adamik Creative, this local midwest team was excited by a neutral palette, but added texture and unexpected details to elevate the shoot.
The white and green profile is especially apparent in the tablescape design (that garland! And those succulents!! Florals provided by Aysel Cristian). And the low profile details continued throughout - loving the acrylic invite designs by Flourish and Pearl.
And I’m loving the new trend of using hoops / circular designs in decor - I think they’re so beautiful! Love the hoops by Aysel Cristian Floral Atelier.
And can we talk for one minute about this GOWN from Trudie's Bridal & Formalwear?! The A-Line silhouette is a classic style, but the floral illusion neckline elevates the simple look.
Bottom Line: Trust yourself. You have amazing taste, and it’s your wedding after all! You want to feel perfect and true to yourself the entire day.
