Jesse & Emily's Emerald & Gold Wedding

We love when a wedding will never go out of style! Jesse and Emily wanted a simple and elegant wedding surrounded by their closest family and friends. The brides style was timeless - she wore a textured wedding gown complemented with rich emerald drop earrings. Her look paired perfectly with her groom’s deep indigo suit.

The couple elected to do a first look before their ceremony (and we glad they did!) they chose to see each other near their new home by the Chicago River. Dorey Kronick captured the lush greenery and the love these two have together so perfectly! Keeping their wedding quintessential Chicago they elected to take the CTA to their ceremony. How fun!?

Including family was an important theme for Emily and Jesse. The bride’s brother made a welcome sign that was displayed as guests arrived for ceremony at Lutheran Memorial Church. The couple spoke their own wedding vows that they wrote for each other while the groom's brother played the piano. They were glowing with happiness!

Emily’s sister was in charge of centerpieces for the reception at Trigger - she took on the task of visiting thrift stores for vases and candle holders. On wedding day she visited Whole Foods for fresh flowers and greenery. With the help of their day of coordinator Nicole, from Urban Allure Events all of the centerpieces were completed and placed on the tables - completely DIY (with a cost of under $500!).

When guests began arriving for cocktails they were treated to a signature drinks that the groom’s brother made called "The Marguerita" in honor of their late mother. It was such a sweet way to include her memory in their wedding day.

Emily and Jesse wanted to have a cocktail style reception where guests would be encouraged to meet and mingle instead of having assigned seating. They included fun games likes bags, jenga and had Big Star taco buffet. The food was definitely a highlight complete with delicious desserts! I mean, who doesn’t love tacos!?

Following speeches DJ Dustin Harris had everyone on the dance floor!
