Stylish Fall Wedding at Fig & Olive

Fall weddings are some of our favorites! And when they’re as good as Chris and Lily’s day, we can help but be obsessed! Choosing to have their wedding at Fig & Olive versus a venue was just one of the many things that set this wedding apart from others. Their decor was simplistic, but stunning and sophisticated, yet fun! Not to mention, their outdoor photos with crisp fall leaves captured by Hello Love Photography are out of this world! From the bride: The city was really at the heart of our whole wedding. We could have easily planned our wedding in either of our hometowns, but the city is where our life is so that just made sense for us. From picking the church (St. Alphonsus - the only one we've ever gone to together) to the park off the 606 that we wanted to take pictures at, we wanted to take pieces of our life in Chicago to put together a wedding that resembled our life here.

It's also the reason behind having the reception at a restaurant versus a venue - that just felt more like a piece of our real life together (plus the city view from Fig & Olive's terrace didn't hurt). We also brought in little nods to New Orleans - our favorite trip we took together - by having our rehearsal dinner at a restaurant run by a native New Orleanian as well as our DJ who came to Chicago by way of New Orleans. These weren't even things we sought out - but somehow naturally fell into place.
