From the photographer: It brings me great joy to share Sarah and Paul’s summer Greenhouse Loft wedding! Last year in 2018, I connected with these two for the first time after Sarah’s friend stumbled across my work on Instagram… I love it! From the start I knew these two were special, and it was an honor to be chosen as their engagement and wedding photographer! Plus we had a blast at their engagement session (that took place at the same spot where Paul proposed!) last September 2018.

I adore this couple, and I really think you will, too!

From the bride: We met at a mutual friend’s birthday party in June 2014. My college roommate has known Paul and his twin brother since kindergarten! I had just finished my first year teaching and Paul looked at all the pictures of my class and kids! It was so sweet and I knew he was special! Paul lived in Chicago when I met him and I lived in Wheaton. We moved to Arlington Heights and then Paul’s company moved to the city, so in February 2018 we moved back to the city.

Before we moved, Paul was talking about all these restaurants he wanted to try – he’s a foodie for sure! So he made reservations for us to go to these new restaurants every month. I didn’t really think anything of it when we went to North Pond for our May outing, since this was a normal monthly thing. We had a great dinner laughing and enjoying ourselves! The restaurant was in Lincoln Park, so after he asked if I wanted to go for a walk, which is also normal because we walk almost every night! We walked around for about 15-20 minutes, and he asked if I wanted to go to a rooftop bar. While we were there he was on his phone a lot, and I asked who he was talking to and he said his brother. I thought it was weird since we were out, but I brushed it off.

When we left the rooftop bar, Paul asked if I wanted to see his softball fields (he plays on a rec league) and I said sure. As we were walking there were no fields in site and I for sure thought he had no idea where the fields actually were. We walked until we got to the honeycomb in the park and he stopped in the middle. I had no idea until he turned to me and said “I want you to know how important you are to me…” and then I was so shocked I really don’t remember what else he said! His brother was in the bushes taking pictures – which is why he was texting him at the bar! It was completely magical, and I left like I was living in a dream!

From the photographer: Today these two continue to call Chicago their home. They love traveling, trying new restaurants, rooting for the Cubs, being outside, trips to Starbucks, and spending time with their friends and family. They’re quirky and cute and the absolute perfect pair. And we cannot forget that they are obsessed with their cats AKA fur babies, Oliver and Emma, too!

From the photographer: Sarah and Paul’s summer Greenhouse Loft wedding day started with getting ready preparations at the InterContinental Hotel before we traveled to the venue. I loved arriving to the bridal suite where the girls were finishing getting ready for the day! The girls were relaxed and enjoying the morning together in the most adorable jumpsuits thanks to Sarah! Before we knew it, Kyle was with the guys photographing Paul’s final preparations while Sarah was stepping into her dress. Then these two shared the sweetest first look at the InterContinental staircase before joining their bridal party for photos.

I loved that we were close to the Wrigley Building for this wedding day. It was the perfect backdrop for bridal party photos and a little hustle and bustle on this downtown wedding day! I cannot speak highly enough of Sarah and Paul’s most favorite people – their bridal party. This crew was kind and oh so fun to spend the day with!

As photos wrapped up in and around the Wrigley Building, we traveled to the venue where the ceremony and reception would take place. I was in awe of Sarah and Paul’s wedding vision coming together… The neutral color palette paired with sage green + pinks, greenery, tons of florals, and the unique loft reception space – A DREAM! And it was a joy to work with Flowers for Dreams (they’re magic!) once again and to make some new friends at Greenhouse Loft. I surely hope we will be back for another wedding day soon!

Sarah and Paul shared a sweet outdoor ceremony with their good friend officiating before enjoying cocktail hour and rolling into their reception. And you better bet that DJ Paul Michaels kept the dance floor packed! It was a joy to see their vision come alive throughout their wedding day. And I truly believe every part of the day was perfectly fitting for this fun, unique couple! This day was all about Sarah and Paul becoming one another with a little (okay a lot!) of fun and time spent with each other and those that love them!
