Chic Elemental Chicago Wedding

To say Karl and Terri (as well as their families) were anxiously awaiting their wedding since they’ve know each other for fifteen years, is an understatement. Combining many unique elements that they love into one design, their chic elemental Chicago wedding at The Dawson blends moody, funky, tropical, and romantic perfectly! See the best parts of their day captured and shared by Cinder and Vin below!

Terri and Karl met almost 15 years ago as teenagers, and Karl proposed on their anniversary. So to say this day was a long time coming is an understatement.

Finding inspirations from Pinterest, Terri dives into how she made the look come together:

From the bride: I do have a wedding board, but also tons of others for many different things. I just considered the things I love the most and pin the most and incorporated those items into the wedding any way I could. I’ve always loved tropical flowers and knew I wanted to have them, I’m the most happy when I’m out with my friends on a Saturday night listening to great music and dancing all night, that’s the environment I wanted to create and that’s why the Dawson was such a great venue choice. It wasn’t a big banquet hall that we had to dress up, it already had great atmosphere and felt like our own bar for the night.

I’m not super into color in real life, I have to wear all black and white for work and prefer to wear blue, cream, and gray in my off duty time so it just made sense to stick with what I like. We ended up doing an ombre look for the bridesmaid dresses, I really wanted everyone to feel good and to find something flattering - once we figured out what styles looked good on who, they didn’t necessarily all come in the same color so that is how we came up with the ombre idea. I feel like we didn’t have much of a theme, I just went with things that I really love. Karl chose things he really loves too - he’s loved James Bond his whole life and chose a suit that looked exactly like one that Daniel Craig wore in a Bond film.

Her best investment was her wedding dress, which she is sad she'll never really get to wear again but made her feel wonderful on her wedding day!

What she's most excited about?

The bride: "Just being able to call Karl my husband. We’ve been together for such a long time and this wedding was highly anticipated not only by us but by our families too!"
