Lindsay and Rin: A Stunning and Intimate Fall Wedding
Written By Curator: Erin Martin - Owner, ECBG Cake Studio:
We absolutely love working with Laura, Owner of Fierce Productions. Her business mission and values align so well with ours, plus she plans a DAMN good event! Feel free to take a deep dive into her website and learn about all of the fun and unique events they plan! We worked together a lot in 2020 to lean on one another, learn from one another, and help each other pivot! She started Parties-To-Go AND she started planning virtual events, which are a blast!
Here Laura and I talk in depth about a wedding we worked on together in the fall. Laura has a beautiful way of bringing all of her vendors together in the most synchronistic way! Most importantly, she knows exactly how to showcase her clients unique and individual personalities to make their special day TOTALLY them!
1) What were the most memorable details and elements from this wedding?
Rin and Lindsay's incredible attire! The colors of their attire appeared in many places throughout the day which made everything feel so cohesive and special. The pastel blue that Rin rocked and pastel pinks that Lindsay rocked showed up in the colors of their day of stationery to their flowers by Leelee's Garden!
The LGBTQ Sugar pour! The couple wanted to perform a ceremony that celebrated Lindsay's love of baking and their LGBTQ community! So they took sugar in different colors of the rainbow and took turns pouring it into a mason jar to create a rainbow! Lindsay and Rin later used this to bake a cake!
The succulent bracelets made by Leelee's Garden. In lieu of a ring exchange Rin and Lindsay exchanged bracelets!
And of course the rainbow cookies by ECBG!!!
2) How did the vendor team work together to make it as safe and enjoyable as possible?
We postponed the larger wedding for 2021
We had a tiny guest count of 12, we wore masks, passed out hand sanitizer and kept our distance!
3) What were the challenges that arose while planning a Covid wedding? and how did you find creative solutions as a group?
Weather! Weather in Chicago is always super fun (not really) but with Covid it gets trickier. We had planned and set everything up for an outdoor wedding but unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate. It started to rain 20 minutes before guests arrived. So we made the call and all of us teamed up together to move everything inside.
Masks! The couple wasn't sure about the mask choreography for the ceremony. It was a whole new checklist item I realized we needed to add to our ceremony rehearsal! When to put on the masks, when to remove them and where do they go!
4) Overall, and now looking back what was the feedback from the couple and vendor team surrounding an intimate Covid wedding?
This wedding was one of the most intimate, unique and special weddings I've ever been a part of. We were all crying because not only was Rin and Lindsay's love beautiful but we knew we were making history. They were getting married in the middle of a Pandemic. All you need is love!
Everyone felt safe and over joyed to help this couple celebrate their love on their original date.
5) If you had to describe the event in a short paragraph what would you say? mood/vibe/atmosphere etc.
This was an offbeat, intimate wedding that dared to be different. Rin and Lindsay made community their number one priority and made sure to bring their personalities into every element of the day. The photography by Roni Rose really set the mood of this autumn wedding making it dramatic and vibrant.
