Should You Tip Your Wedding Vendors?
Written by Gina Anderson, planner with Urban Allure Events
One of the most common lingering questions wedding planners get from couples is what to tip their vendors and which vendors do they tip. Wonder no more, because I’ll cover it all in this post! So, save it, bookmark it or screenshot it to save for later.
Before I jump in, let me answer the common question: “Should you tip wedding vendors?” Short answer, Yes! Tipping is not expected, but appreciated for any and all vendors. Always be sure to make certain they provided great service and that gratuity is not already included in the bill.
Okay, let’s dive in now to the guide.
Wedding Vendor Tip Guide
Catering: 15-20% of the food & beverage bill (this is usually included in the bill though, so make sure to check)
Photo/Video: 100-$250 each, or a gift of same value
Wedding Coordinator: $100-$200
Wedding Planner: 15-20% of your package
Makeup/Hair: 15-20% of the total bill
Officiant: $50-$100 or a gift
Transportation: 15-20% of the total bill or $50 per driver (gratuity is occasionally included in the bill though, so make sure to check)
DJ: 15-20% of the total bill or $50-$150
Band: $25-50 per musician
Ceremony: 10-15% of total bill or $50 per person
Photo Booth Attendant: $25-50
Florist: 20% of service fees from the contract
Bartenders: they either have a tip jar out, if not, 10-20% of the total alcohol bill
