Chicago Skyline Proposal

“My fiancé Eric and best friend/bridesmaid/professional wedding photographer Emma plotted our engagement 7 months in advance, 5 of which Eric was holding on to the ring that he custom designed for me (a DREAM).

“While Emma made me think I was planning a photoshoot to help build out her portfolio, Eric was really in the background pulling the strings to find the perfect location, gather our friends, fly in our parents, and plan a spectacular engagement weekend. He popped the question on the shore of Lake Michigan with the Chicago skyline in the background, and after a flurry of pictures and champagne whisked me off to a surprise engagement party where all of our close friends and family were waiting!

“We are big game players, so he even organized an untraditional competition of minute-to-win-it type games, which was the most fun I’ve ever had. Emma was only planning on documenting the actual engagement, but of course, she grabbed her camera to capture us in our competitive state — and those are some of my favorite pictures from the day!

“We followed the party with an incredible 10-course dinner at Boca, a phenomenal Michelin Star restaurant here in the city, and then met our friends at our favorite cheesy karaoke bar where we drank, sang, and danced the night away. The weekend was topped off with a family brunch the next morning, before seeing all of our friends and family off to the airport. It was nothing short of magical and I’ve never felt so loved and celebrated by all my favorite people!”

HUGE thanks to Sarah (and Eric) for sharing their proposal story with us today!
