Rooted in radical generosity, Love is Essential was a project developed by some of Chicago’s top wedding vendors to GIFT an entire wedding to two deserving essential workers who were dramatically impacted by Covid 19. Susan and Zach both serve our community at James A Lovell Veterans Hospital and had to reschedule and eventually cancel their wedding due to the pandemic. They continued working during incredibly difficult and trying circumstances. Susan and Zach applied for Love is Essential after a friend saw a post about the giveaway on social media. They were chosen because of their commitment to our community and their willingness to wait until the time was right to celebrate their dream wedding with their families and friends. As we got to know Susan and Zach better we quickly came to know them as kind, selfless, down-to-earth and endlessly grateful for the gift of Love is Essential. After nearly 18 months of planning, the Love is Essential wedding took place on April 23, 2022 at the beautiful Old Post Office. Our talented and generous vendor team made this unforgettable day possible, a true dream wedding for two deserving essential workers.
