Love Along the Lakeshore - Gorgeous North Avenue Pier Engagement Session

Maryam and Harry's engagement session will forever hold a special place in this photographer's heart for so many reasons. Firstly, the couple. These two are living proof that sometimes the lord gives with both hands, I tell ya! Not only are they gorgeous (I mean, obviously!) but they truly are the whole package. Kind, funny, intelligent, compassionate (my voice was virtually gone that week and they were so patient as I'd try to croak out direction!) and honestly just a great hang! The other element that truly made this shoot one for the books was the lake itself. In all of my dozens and dozens of shoots along the shores of Lake Michigan, I have never seen the lake like this.

It was perfectly still, its surface a shimmering mirror reflecting the city lights and the soft pinks and purples in the late fall evening sky.

We started off strolling along the concrete beach and then frolicked in the sand, lived dangerously balancing on the pier and finished up as the sun set, the lights from the iconic skyline casting even more incredible colors in the lake's waters.
