Wedding Dress & Veil Trends For 2024 Brides

Written by Curator Grace + Ivory

With the 2023 wedding season wrapping up, 2024 brides are anxiously waiting in the wings for the bridal baton to be passed. But with so much to do from now until their 2024 wedding date, many brides have yet to check off their wedding dress or veil. Stuck between wanting to avoid dress regret and waiting for the next new thing…we understand why it can be so hard to commit to one dress and veil for your wedding day.

So if you’re a 2024 bride trying to stay ahead on trends and nail down one unique look, keep scrolling for our Grace + Ivory picks for 2024 wedding dress & veil trends…and hopefully beat the decision fatigue!

Silky & Sleek Wedding Gowns

You can’t beat the classics and this 2024 wedding dress trend proves it. Silk-Satin is a timeless fabric that is known for its shiny silver texture and sleek appearance. If you’re a Bachelor fan, you may recognize it as the fabric Hannah G. donned for her Parisian wedding this past summer. We loved the chic look on Hannah and 2024 brides are loving it on our new Vita wedding gown.

This off-the-shoulder wedding dress features a structured bodice for plenty of corset-like support. The back of the sheath style gown is adorned with bridal buttons for a cool bride vintage touch. Add a bridal bow or sleek set of gloves to personalize your bridal look.

Bridal Capes

Bridal capes were trending this past wedding season and are quickly cementing themselves as a bridal staple accessory. More and more brides are ditching the weigh-your-hair-down kind of veil in favor of a light bridal cape. Pearl, lace, or plain tulle…you can get as customized with your cape as you can with a veil and a bridal cape allows you to opt for a totally down hair look (if you so wish!)

2024 brides are swooning over Grace + Ivory’s pearl cape. Especially since simple and sleek crepe dresses are the staple this year, it can be fun to go big with a bridal accessory that you’ll only wear for part of the day.

3D Floral Appliques

Bring on the romance, 3D florals are everything this 2024 wedding season. 3D florals are a more modern take on a traditional lace, known for their texture and “pop” off the dress appearance. Whimsical, ethereal, forest fairy garden wedding…are all words that come to mind for our 2024 brides (or any bride that lives and breathes Taylor Swift!).

Featured on Grace + Ivory’s new Paz and Issa wedding gowns, these 3D floral styles come in a classic mermaid or A-line silhouette. You can try them on now at Grace + Ivory’s Chicago showroom

Blusher Veils

Thanks to Sofia Richie’s dew-drop blusher veil at the wedding of the year…blusher veils have made a come back for the 2024 wedding season. Brides love the drama a blusher veil can add to a simple dress for a layered high-fashion look. Whether you want to keep it simple with plain tulle or add a ruffle edge, a blusher veil also elevates your bridal portraits.

Sleeves

From off-the-shoulder to cap sleeves and full lace…more and more brides are loving delicate or dramatic details on the arms. Especially with designers opting to include detachable details in their 2024 wedding dress designs, sleeves are a fun way to take your wedding dress from classy ceremony to party reception.

Grace + Ivory’s Melody dress is a 2024 bride pick for a lace off-the-shoulder sleeve that detaches just in time to hit the dance. Or, if you are looking for a vintage-inspired bridal look to rock all night…try Grace + Ivory’s Kefira dress for a full tulle skirt and beaded lace long sleeve.

Fingertip Veils

If a dramatic blusher veil doesn’t fit your bridal style, plenty of 2024 brides are opting for fingertip length veils instead! Known for being lightweight and easy to move in, these short veils are one less detail for your Maid-Of-Honor to fluff for every photo opportunity. Fingertip veils stay in place and are a beautiful bridal touch.

Pearls, beaded edge, or lace…so many Grace + Ivory fingertip veils are trending for 2024 brides. Ultimately, choose a veil that elevates your bridal look but isn’t the make-or-break on getting on a dress.

To Give In To The Trends Or Stay Timeless…

A main fear of a 2024 bride can be: something they love now may not be trendy in a few years. After all, no one wants to look back on the wedding photos they’ll have forever and think…what was I thinking!

But rest assured, that with 2024 bridal trends, we’ve seen a push towards all that is classic and timeless. Pearls, silk-satins, sleeves…are all vintage nods that have and will stand the test of time. When in doubt, always go with the dress that feels the most like you…even if another matches the venue or aesthetic slightly more. You can never go wrong with a dress that stays true to your personal style.
