Bloom & Make | The Unhurried Art of Flower Preservation
About
My name is Ana Constantinescu, a pressed flower artist based in Oak Park, just outside Chicago. My path to flower preservation began in my grandmother Victoria's garden and led through my own cutting garden. That intimacy with flowers - from seed to pressing to frame - shapes everything I create.
I limit my practice to fewer than 50 commissions per year - not because I can't grow, but because flower preservation is an art that shouldn't be rushed. Your bouquet deserves unhurried attention from one artist, not a production line.
When you work with me, the process is collaborative: We discuss your vision, your home, the feeling you want when guests notice the piece. If you're drawn to antiques, we source materials together until we find the one waiting for your flowers. If you want something made to order, we design it together.
Over the years, I have developed a signature aesthetic that layers traditional pressing with dimensional elements, creating textured compositions that feel organic rather than templated. Every framed piece includes museum-grade materials: archival mats, museum glass, and complimentary color restoration. Anything less wouldn't be an heirloom.
From our first conversation to the moment you see your finished piece, it's my hands and my attention. Your flowers never enter a system - they become an heirloom we made together.
