Centerpiece tips from Olive Fine Weddings!

Written by Curator Olivia of Olive Fine Weddings:

If it’s not obvious to you yet, I’m a details gal. Whether you’re talking personalized napkins, lovely favors, or an uniquely designed cake, I’m alllll the heart-eyes. But what actually makes me gasp on a wedding day? Flowers. Wedding florals elevate a wedding day by providing the final touches that tie everything together to bring a client’s wedding vision to life. Centerpieces, especially, can transform a white linen and some candles into a unique and personal table setting, expertly reflecting the client’s vision. A few thoughts and some advice below!

For example, for the neutral couple, I always recommend throwing in some texture. Ferns, and other highly textured greenery add some serious oompf. (Can you spot the artichoke heart in the centerpiece below?!)

If you’re more of a couple drawn to color - my best advice is to ask for it! Share the colors that inspire you - there is not wrong answer! Florists like the incredibly talented Persephone Floral Atelier can take your small nugget of an idea and create something truly beautiful out of it. Trust them.

Finally, the vase / vessel is also a consideration! You can be creative here, too! Looking for something more rustic? Ask for your florist’s wooden options. Or perhaps something glam? Perhaps they have something metallic in stock. Stacey Twigg of Ithaca Flower Shop whipped up these beauties in a rectangular wooden box to keep with the garden theme.

As for all things wedding, budget is always a consideration. Florists are the BEST at being creative with your resources by swapping out flowers, vases, etc. Just be aware that if you have 8 bridesmaids, and you want them each to have a bouquet, those add up!

Happy designing, friends!
