The Perfect Groom's Gift List
Win at gift giving with these winners selected by the Wedding GPS himself!
At some point during each client’s engagement, I’m secretly contacted by their other half with a similar story… they have been thinking and stressing, and stressing about thinking, on what to get their man for a wedding gift. Relax! You know him better than anyone. Use some of my favorite things as inspiration, and as always, contact me if you need help.
Also, just so we’re clear, I have not been paid for these reviews and I have not been gifted any of these items. I wish that wasn’t the case, so if you’re with one of these companies, please contact me as well.
Fragrance (Cologne)
Fragrances can be tough because it depends on what type of scent your man typically prefers, but here are a couple that are sure to please any guy. They are beautiful fragrances and very elegant (a.k.a., perfect for a wedding).
Google each of these to find the best pricing. Cosmetic and department stores, as well as the boutiques, will carry these.
Let’s first get this out of the way… pronunciation. It’s Hermès. It’s not Her-me’s, it’s not Hirmes. To listen to the proper pronunciation of this luxuriously elegant brand, click here.
This fragrance it’s both citrusy and woodsy and I regularly get compliments on this. I wear it as a daily scent and for special occasions. For someone who wants to stand out in an elegant, but not in your face way.
The bottle is pretty cool too and includes their signature “H” on the bottom. Take a look.
Tom Ford Black Orchid
This one is special. It is modern and timeless, and has a beautifully rich, darker scent. It’s a warmer floral scent, without smelling like flowers. Beautiful incense, orchid and woody notes make it awesome. In true Tom Ford style, the bottle is also gorgeous and just badass.
This is an evening scent. What do I mean by that? It’s heavier so it’s a bit much for a daily cologne. I wear this to almost every special occasion or evening event. Not many people wear it, but when they do, I notice and immediately want to talk with them.
Watches
You do not need to spend a fortune to get a beautiful watch. There are some awesome brands with nice movements and a great overall product.
A favorite of mine. They have many options that’ll fit in whatever style wedding you are planning, and they’ll look good for years after.
Have a formal wedding? Try the Sheffield in Black. $199 for the 36MM/$229 for the 40MM. Want a white face? They have that too.
More casual wedding? The Dapper Durham is awesome. $189 for 34MM/$219 for the 38MM.
Beach wedding? Go with the Glasgow. Afterward, he can get every color strap they have and change them out! $179 for the 36MM/$199 for the 40MM.
It’s hard not walking into their Chicago boutique. They just have cool stuff.
Definitely a higher end gift here, but if you’re looking for something truly special that’ll knock his socks off, go with the Shinola Canfield Sport. It’s a beautiful watch with stunning features. Also comes with a $900 price tag.
Want something in between? Contact me, I have three more brands I like and was saving for a future post.
Speaking of socks… Socks
Socks are an inexpensive way to have some fun and add a little something extra to the gift. I’ve said it before and will continue to say it, No Cold Feet socks and labels are the best. Not only do they have great socks for the groom and groomsmen, you can get a label to make sure your man doesn’t get cold feet.
Just to check, do you get the double meaning? Do you? No Cold Feet…socks…weddings?! Ahh!

Custom sports jacket for the rehearsal dinner
Many are still focused on the trend of wearing suits instead of tuxedos for weddings, I’m past that. We’re onto the next trend – looking better than average for the rehearsal dinner. This is one of the coolest gifts you can get your man.
Prices can range from $350-1,000+… really whatever range you want to be in, there are sport coats for. Check out Surmesur for my favorites and see some inspiration from their Instagram below.
That’s a wrap…for now. Stay tuned for more gift ideas that’ll be sure to make your man happy come wedding day (or rehearsal dinner night!).
