Daniel & Alex's Engagement Session
Written by Photographer Meg Adamik:
It all started at a friend's party in 9th grade. 8.5 years later and Daniel and Alex are engaged!
During a trip to Scottsdale with friends, and after a Mezcal flight at a local bar, Daniel proposed to Alex at the restaurant Pointe of View that hosted a glass lookout and gorgeous view of downtown Phoenix. Alex cried, said yes, and both of them admit, even though Mexican is undoubtedly their favorite food, they didn't taste a thing because they were so excited! Alex is currently studying to get her graduate degree in Chicago and Daniel flew in for the weekend from their hometown in Georgia for the session and for.....Lollapalooza!
Alex fell in love with the Garfield Park Conservatory and considered having her wedding there, but wanted to have it back home with friends and family, so an engagement session was the next best thing.
We adventured through 7 rooms of blooming, beautiful life, and captured plenty along the way. It was a hot one, but I have to tell you, the plants weren't the only factor contributing to the steamy windows. The love between Alex + Daniel seemed so effortless and natural. After 8.5 years of dating, they're finally getting hitched and you could just sense the excitement in both of them.
I absolutely adore when my couples "run" with my ideas and prompts, when they fully embrace them. Getting your pictures taken can be uncomfortable and I always do my best to put the clients at ease, and get them in a mood where they just want to adventure and have fun. Alex + Daniel let all of their walls down with me and the images from our session totally reflect that - they captured their raw passion and excitement for each other.
